4 places to exercise while watching the sunrise

Working out at dawn is something that health advocates desire, especially if they can do so outdoors. The weather in Panama is particularly nice at the start of the day with temperatures around 20 C°, low humidity levels especially during summer and the perfect amount of breeze that makes this experience incredible.

With this purpose in mind, Panama has a number of areas designed for exercising outside as seen in the following selection of places.

Parque Omar

The former Panama Golf Club was refurbished for public use after a government reform in 1983, transforming this course into a park where families can go have fun.

Open recreational spaces for children, multiple sports fields, a library, a space for driving lessons and an exuberant open space museum, along with the best areas for physical exercise and leisure.

Parque Omar is located in Avenida Belisario, in the neighborhood of San Francisco in Panama City.

Cinta Costera

The Cinta Costera refers to an important piece of land created in front of the sea.

With purely artificial origins, it extends across 7 kilometers starting in Santa Ana all the way to Punta Paitilla in Panama City. The whole complex was inaugurated on June 20, 2009 and has a total of three phases that were constructed progressively and sequentially.

Additionally, it holds a four lane road that allows access into the city next to the well known Avenida Balboa.

The previously mentioned sections I and II hold sport facilities and section III holds a field composed of 40 hectares of green area.

Cerro Ancón

Located in the heart of Panama City with the only exception that it is not an urbanized area. In its totality it has 199 meters of altitude and its name is derived from the historical precedent that led to the creation of the neighborhood with the same name.

It is one of the preferred athletic circuits given its wide range of possibilities for working out immersed in a natural environment, compared to other locations.

Cerro Ancón is also distinguished by the flag at its peak as a symbol of political control over the zone in 1977 and the commemorative monument remembering Amelia Delis.

With a surprising proximity to the Panama Canal, this area is known for being a technology and business park located in the country’s capital.

It provides its visitors an excelente panoramic view of the Miraflores Locks, as well as a number of rooms and infrastructure equipped to provide information about the Canal’s history, construction and modern performance.

Additionally, it is host to a variety of green areas where you can walk or go for a run helping increase its popularity. A perfect place for all those who love to exercise at the beginning of the day.
